Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: September 2026

Welcome to Maple Valley Cabs Inc. (“Maple Valley Cabs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings and transportation services provided by Maple Valley Cabs.

By booking or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Bookings

Bookings may be made by phone, online, or through other available booking methods.

When making a booking, customers are responsible for providing accurate information, including:

Name

Phone number

Pickup location

Destination

Date and time

Number of passengers

Flight information, when applicable

An online booking request is not confirmed until Maple Valley Cabs confirms the booking.

We may contact you if additional information is needed.

2. Pickup & Passenger Readiness

Please be ready at the agreed pickup location at your scheduled time.

If the driver arrives and the passenger is unavailable, the driver will make reasonable attempts to contact them. If the passenger cannot be reached, the booking may be treated as a no-show and a minimum fare or applicable cancellation charge may apply.

Please allow extra time when travelling to airports, appointments, or other time-sensitive destinations.

3. Airport Reservations

Airport trips should be booked in advance whenever possible.

Customers should provide their flight number and accurate travel information and advise us of significant changes.

If an airport reservation is cancelled after the driver has already travelled to the airport and is waiting for the customer, a cancellation charge of up to $150 may apply, depending on the distance travelled, time committed, and circumstances of the booking.

Customers are encouraged to contact Maple Valley Cabs as soon as possible if their flight or travel plans change.

4. Fares & Quotes

Fares may be based on applicable taxi rates, flat rates, or a specific quote provided for the trip.

Some local fares are approximate and may vary depending on the exact pickup and destination.

If you would like to know the fare before travelling, please ask for a quote when booking.

Additional stops, route changes, extended waiting, or other changes to the original booking may result in additional charges.

Applicable taxes and charges will be communicated as required by law.

5. Cancellations

We understand that plans can change. Please cancel as early as possible so we can make the vehicle available to another customer.

A minimum fare may apply when a driver has been committed to a local booking and is already travelling to the pickup location, or has arrived and the customer cancels or does not show.

Airport and long-distance cancellation charges may vary based on the distance and time already committed by the driver.

Any cancellation charge will be reasonable in the circumstances and subject to applicable law.

6. Deposits

Certain bookings, including some late-night, early-morning, airport, long-distance, or special-event trips, may require a deposit.

If a deposit is required, the customer will be informed before the booking is confirmed.

7. Waiting Time

Reasonable waiting arrangements may be provided for certain pre-booked trips.

Additional waiting time may be charged when the customer is not ready at the agreed pickup time.

For airport pickups, waiting arrangements may depend on the booking and flight circumstances.

8. Vehicle Rules & Cleanliness

To keep our vehicles safe, clean, and comfortable for everyone:

No smoking or vaping

No alcohol

No eating

Please avoid consuming drinks inside the vehicle.

Passengers are responsible for excessive spills, stains, mess, or damage caused by themselves or their party.

A cleaning fee may apply when additional cleaning is required.

For vomit or bodily-fluid contamination, a $100–$200 cleaning fee may apply, depending on the extent of cleaning required.

Additional reasonable charges may apply for damage to upholstery, carpeting, equipment, or other vehicle property.

Pets: Pet transportation is not available in every vehicle and must be confirmed in advance. Where accommodated, small pets must be kept in a secure, appropriate carrier or cage during the trip.

9. Passenger Conduct

Please treat our drivers and vehicles with respect.

We may refuse or end a trip when a passenger’s behaviour creates an unsafe or seriously disruptive situation, including threatening or abusive behaviour, harassment, intentional vehicle damage, unsafe behaviour, or illegal activity.

Any decision to refuse or end a trip will be made with safety and applicable law in mind.

10. Alcohol & Substances

Passengers must comply with all applicable laws.

A driver may refuse transportation when a passenger’s condition or behaviour creates a safety concern.

Illegal substances are not permitted in our vehicles.

11. Children

Passengers travelling with children are responsible for following applicable child-restraint and seat-belt requirements.

Customers should advise us in advance if a child requires special accommodation.

12. Accessibility

If you require additional assistance or have specific accessibility needs, please let us know when booking.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your needs based on vehicle availability and applicable requirements.

13. Luggage & Personal Belongings

Customers are responsible for their luggage and personal belongings.

Please let us know in advance if you have unusually large, heavy, or numerous items.

If you leave something in a vehicle, contact us as soon as possible and we will make reasonable efforts to locate and return it.

14. Delays & Road Conditions

We do our best to stay on schedule, but transportation can be affected by weather, traffic, road closures, accidents, construction, vehicle issues, airport delays, and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Safety comes first. We may delay, modify, or cancel a trip when conditions make transportation unsafe.

15. Vehicle & Driver Assignment

We may assign a different vehicle or driver than originally expected when necessary due to scheduling, availability, maintenance, safety, or operational requirements.

16. Payment

We accept payment methods offered by Maple Valley Cabs, which may include cash, debit/credit card, e-transfer, and other available payment methods.

Payment is due for the applicable fare and approved additional charges.

Receipts or invoices may be provided where applicable.

17. Website & Online Bookings

We make reasonable efforts to keep our website information accurate.

Fares, hours, service areas, promotions, and availability may change.

A booking request submitted through the website is not a guarantee of service until confirmed by Maple Valley Cabs.

If you have submitted a booking request but have not received confirmation, please contact us directly.

18. Privacy

Information provided when booking may be used to arrange and provide transportation, communicate with customers, process payments, provide receipts, improve our services, and meet legal requirements.

Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.

19. Customer Concerns

We value our customers and want to know when something hasn’t gone right.

If you have a concern about a trip, fare, booking, or driver, please contact us directly. We will make reasonable efforts to review and resolve the issue.

20. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for delays, missed appointments, missed connections, or other losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or limit any rights or protections that customers have under applicable Nova Scotia or Canadian law.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The current version will be posted on our website with the applicable update date.

22. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the applicable laws of Canada.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
